Paula Maling is a proud Worimi, Yidinji and South Sea Island woman who was born and raised on Bidjigal Country, carrying with her a deep connection to community, culture, and storytelling. She is currently the General Manager of Gadigal Information Service, where she continues to champion First Nations voices and community-led media initiatives. With more than 30 years of experience across the First Nations radio, television, and events sectors, Paula has built a respected career as a director, producer, writer, and researcher. Her work is grounded in amplifying First Nations perspectives and ensuring authentic representation across media platforms. Throughout her career, Paula has demonstrated a strong commitment to cultural integrity, community engagement, and creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to share their stories, knowledge, and experiences with broader audiences.

Gavin Ivey | Koori Radio Program Manager | programs@kooriradio.com

Gavin Ivey is a dedicated Bundjalung South Sea Islander community media professional, broadcaster, and advocate for First Nations voices, with extensive experience in radio operations, programming, and community engagement. As Program Manager at Koori Radio 93.7FM, Gavin is committed to strengthening Indigenous storytelling, supporting emerging broadcasters, and creating opportunities for diverse communities to share their experiences and perspectives.

Passionate about cultural preservation, media innovation, and community development, he works to ensure that radio remains a powerful platform for connection, education, and empowerment. Through his leadership and advocacy, Gavin continues to champion inclusive broadcasting and amplify the voices of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and other First Nations communities across Australia.

Tasha is a proud Bunjalung and Bidjara woman. Born in Brisbane, raised in Casino, and living on Gadigal Country in Sydney for the past 25 years, her journey has been shaped by community, culture, and storytelling.

After spending 10 years working in television production at ABC Sydney and six years in the construction industry, she found her true calling at Gadigal Information Service Koori Radio. 

Four years on, she is the proud host of the Brekky Show Monday to Friday, connecting with listeners through conversation, music, and community. Tash has also had the privilege of working on the Yabun Festival as the Yabun Stalls Coordinator.

She believes radio has a unique ability to bring people together through stories, culture, and music. When she’s not behind the microphone, you'll usually find her enjoying great music or watching an Eddie Murphy classic.

Lola Forrester | Koori Radio Broadcaster | blackchat@kooriradio.com

Lola Forester is a respected Yuwibara and Australian South Sea Islander broadcaster, producer, and Indigenous media specialist.

For over 15 years, she has served as the driving force behind Koori Radio 93.7FM’s flagship program, Blackchat, where she acts as both the host and producer. Her work on the multi-award-winning national show focuses on critical Indigenous current affairs, community advocacy, and celebrating First Nations excellence and leadership.

Before anchoring Blackchat, Lola built an extensive, decades-long career across Australian television and radio networks, including ABC and SBS. Her background includes working as a television reporter for NITV’s Around the Traps and serving as an Executive Producer and presenter for SBS Radio’s Aboriginal program. Over her career, she has travelled, and interviewed thousands of people in covering current affairs, with a dedicated focus on human rights and Black Lives Matter issues affecting people Indigenous people here in Australia and across the globe.

Aaron, better known to listeners as Eastern Brown, is the host of Making Tracks on 93.7 KOORI Radio. With three years of broadcasting experience, he brings an energetic and approachable style to the airwaves, exploring community events, the arts, literature, and a diverse range of music. Through light-hearted interviews and engaging conversations, Aaron enjoys sharing stories that celebrate culture, creativity, and the people who help make communities thrive.

When he's not behind the microphone, Aaron can usually be found gaming, scrolling Insta, or attending conventions that celebrate nerd and geek culture. Passionate about connecting with people and discovering unique perspectives, he aims to create a welcoming space where listeners can be entertained, inspired, and introduced to something new every week on Making Tracks.

Kirstyn Lindsay | Koori RadioNews Producer/Journalist|

Kirstyn Lindsay (KL) joins Koori Radio with over thirty years' experience in broadcast radio journalism, advocacy, technical direction and sound engineering in the arts and education sectors across Australia’s east coast. 

Born on the Yuggera nation in Wooloongabba, South Brisbane, Kirstyn was raised in Logan City on the Yugembeh nation and started her journey in radio and journalism as a volunteer at 4ZZZFM in Fortitude Valley in 1993.  

In 2025, Kirstyn qualified as an Accredited Trainer and Assessor, graduating with a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment with TAFE Queensland, specialising in journalism and community media. This has been a progression from her work as a Pathways trainer, mentor and course coordinator with the Community Media Training Organisation since 2021. 

Her appointments in journalism include:  

  • News and Current Affairs Correspondent - CAAMA Radio Mparntwe Alice Springs. 

  • Special Journalist in Treaty engagement (Balit Dhumba-Strong Talk) and family violence prevention (Standing Strong Together) - 3KND Naarm, Melbourne. 

  • Executive Producer - SBS Radio Melbourne Living Black and NITV Radio Naarm, Melbourne. 

Kirstyn has held various volunteer roles in community radio, producing content on prison, social justice, healing, and anti-nuclear issues. She held a voluntary position as a para-legal advocate for women in Prison in Victoria and now develops training programs and resources for community broadcasters to advance their education in broadcasting and journalism skills, with a vision for learners of all ages to empower themselves and their communities.

A proud member of the Wiradjuri mob, Lance brings his expertise in mixing, mastering, and recording to the forefront with a distinctive style marked by emotional depth and dark undertones. Lance honed his skills at Abbey Road Institute with engineers linked with Studio 301. As CillCheney, he has opened for acts like Tech N9ne and Drapht and performed at major festivals including NAIDOC in the Park, Blakfire and Marrickville Festival. He currently works as the studio manager and an engineer at Kameygal Music Studio. Lance is dedicated to helping artists discover their unique sound and offers insightful feedback throughout their creative journey.

Josh Di Matteois a seasoned marketing, partnerships and audio operations professional with extensive experience across community radio, in-language radio and the music industry. As Sponsorship & Marketing Coordinator at Koori Radio 93.7FM, Josh is passionate about broadening the audience reach of the station, creating new opportunities for volunteers, broadcasters and listeners to get involved, and building external relationships that serve our community long into the future. Through his work, Koori Radio has been able to source required equipment, secure new streams of sponsorship, present curated stages and offerings, plus, ensure staff are always adequately caffeinated.

Raga Nadeswaran Raghavan brings more than 50 years of accounting, financial management, and leadership experience. He commenced his career with Ernst & Young in Sri Lanka and subsequently held finance and management positions across a range of organisations, including 9 years in senior management roles.

Since migrating to Sydney in 1990, Raga has dedicated more than 37 years to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, including Murawina, Redfern Aboriginal Corporation, Karingal, Perleeka Television, Ngalawi Housing Cooperative, and Gadigal Information Service. Known for his integrity, financial expertise, and commitment to community development, Raga has earned the respect and trust of the communities and organisations he has served throughout his distinguished career.
