Yabun 

Held annually on 26 January at Victoria Park, Sydney, Yabun is an event of national significance and proudly stands as the largest one-day Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander festival in Australia. Yabun is a powerful celebration of First Nations cultures, bringing together community, families, artists, performers, leaders, and visitors from across the country.

The festival showcases the richness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through music, dance, art, fashion, politics, storytelling, cooking demonstrations, and cultural exchange. With more than 160 market stalls, Yabun provides opportunities to engage with government agencies, non-profit organisations, community services, and First Nations-owned small businesses.Held annually on 26 January, Yabun is an event of national significance, being one of the largest community owned one-day Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander festivals that showcases our First Nations cultures, music, politics, and other forms of artistic and cultural expression.

Festival highlights include a dynamic Main Stage featuring leading First Nations performers, the Corroboree Dance Ground showcasing traditional and contemporary dance, and the fully catered Elders and Jarjums Tent offering a welcoming space with a wide range of cultural activities for Elders, children, and families.

The Speak Out Tent hosts important panel discussions and conversations on issues affecting First Nations peoples, while the Yabun Yarns Tent presents talks from First Nations academics, thought leaders, authors, and social media influencers. Visitors can also enjoy First Nations cooking demonstrations, a fashion parade showcasing Indigenous designers, and an Acoustic Stage dedicated to emerging young musicians.

As part of the day's activities, the Victoria Park Pool remains open throughout the festival, providing free swimming opportunities for attendees to enjoy.

Yabun is a day of celebration, learning, connection, and pride—bringing people together to honour the world's oldest living cultures and to share in the strength, resilience, and creativity of First Nations peoples.
